I’ve been a compulsive writer for as long as I can remember. It all started when I was in the third grade and took a simple writing assignment too far. While all the kids had jotted down two simple pages, I found myself with a whopping six pages.
Since then, I’ve had a number of random blogs here and there to create a small platform to express myself. I guess I can’t keep my mouth shut.
so I started ClubCairo in 2013 in attempt to create a platform specifically dedicated to writing about the woes of living in Cairo, Egypt. Throughout the years, this blog has become a place for me to write about everything and anything related to living in this city. Even when I vent about things like traffic and sexual harassment, I find it best to combat frustration with humor and sarcasm. If we can’t laugh at ourselves, then what is there to live for?
While I had hoped to make this a sort of online portfolio (I’m a freelance writer for hire), that ship soon sailed due to my compulsive use of profanity…oh, well!
